Technology (MSD Desalination Module)

Desalination that runs on the energy you already have.

The MSD Series is a robust, energy-flexible thermal desalination module for situations where conventional reverse osmosis is expensive or unfeasible: waste heat available, high or variable salinity, off-grid sites, or a brine and zero-liquid-discharge problem. A PIM Group technology, supplied by WH2O.

Why it is different

  • Runs on the energy you have: waste heat, solar (collector or vacuum), PV, wind, electric or hybrid
  • Handles any salinity (1 to 300,000 ppm TDS), no pretreatment, no pressure, no chemicals, no antiscalant
  • Zero-liquid-discharge capable, with salt as a by-product
  • No rotating parts, very low maintenance, robust in harsh conditions
  • Modular: scale from a single module to arrays

Where it pays off

  • Industrial waste-heat valorisation: turn waste heat plus a problem brine into distillate and salable salt (ZLD)
  • Off-grid and renewable-hybrid sites (solar, PV, wind)
  • High-fouling or high-salinity streams where RO struggles

Energy variants

Matched to the energy source you have (per module, 100 to 250 l/d, scalable in arrays):

How WH2O delivers it

WH2O supplies the MSD module and engineering to integrators, EPC companies and industrial operators. Local installation and service run through partners. For an independent feasibility assessment, the group institute DME is available, so roles stay separated: DME assesses, WH2O supplies.
